Prof. Kong FanQing visited 3 Guangdong Universities to Discuss Cooperation Matters of Psychology Courses

Headed by Vice Rector Kong Fanqing, the CityU delegation visited Guangzhou University, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and Guangzhou Medical University to seek for academic exchanges and cooperation on Applied Psychology Program. Prof. Liu Jianxin, Vice President of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Shen Heyong and staff from Academic Affairs Division on May 23 and 24.

Prof. Kong Fanqing introduced the new campus of CityU to the three Universities. In academic year of 2015 to 2016, CityU returned to the original campus of University of East Asia. The university constantly improves the campus facilities and enters the period of rapid development and achieves a new breakthrough in teaching quality and effectiveness. The programmes for Doctor and Master of Applied Psychology in FHSS are headed by Prof. Shen Heyong, the first Chinese Psychologist recognized by the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) and the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST). Focuses of the Applied Psychology programmes include the integration and development of analytical psychology and Chinese culture, sandplay therapy, embodied imagination and active imagination. Students in these programmes will gain essential theoretical knowledge of analytical psychology and relevant professional skills to become internationally qualified Jungian analysts and sandplay therapists. In recent years, the programmes constantly enhance the academic strength and influence through the " International Conference of Analytical Psychology and Chinese Culture".

Preliminary intent for strategic cooperation has been made by visiting Guangzhou University and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. A cooperation framework agreement has been signed with the Guangzhou Medical College and both sides will strengthen the exchange with the courses of psychology, business administration and law.

Guangzhou University, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and Guangzhou Medical University are all famous universities in Guangdong Province. The undergraduate majors in Guangdong Province enroll the first batch of undergraduate admission and theirs psychology courses enjoy a high degree of visibility internationally and locally.
