Rector Jun Liu leads delegation to participate in “Study in Macao” Education Fair in Malaysia

To promote the internationalization of higher education, under the organization of the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, Rector Jun Liu of City University of Macau (CityU) led a delegation to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, today to participate in the 2026 “Study in Macao” Education Fair. Other members of the delegation included Lewis Chao Chan Chong, head of Student Affairs Office, (SAO) and Esther Kuo, faculty representative from the Faculty of International Tourism and Management.

At the opening ceremony, Rector Liu signed a cooperation agreement with the Association of Graduates from Universities and Colleges of China, Malaysia, on behalf of CityU. The two sides will further expand the influence of the “Study in Macao” compaign, foster high-quality overseas study experience, and create more opportunities for learning and exchange between young people from both regions.

The fair brought together nine higher education institutions from Macao, with on-site booths and a series of further education seminars. At the exhibition, Rector Liu introduced the development overview of City University of Macau to the Chief Executive of the Macao SAR Government, Sam Hou Fai, showcasing the University’s achievements in international education. Rector Jun Liu also presented the University’s distinctive features to guests at the event and extended a warm welcome to Malaysian students interested in pursuing their studies at CityU.

During the seminar sessions, SAO Head Chao introduced the distinctive features and admission information of Macao’s higher education institutions to Malaysian students and their parents. CityU set up an information booth, providing guidances and answering questions to help local students learn about the University’s academic strengths, institutional capabilities, and the study environment in Macao. This created an important platform for face-to-face exchange on higher education between Macao and Malaysia.
