SUSS is renowned for its expertise in adult education and gerontology studies. Both universities explored potential collaborations in related fields and reached preliminary consensus during the meeting. Moving forward, the two institutions will strengthen cooperation in areas such as gerontology, adult education, and the humanities and social sciences, aiming to advance academic development and practical applications in these disciplines.

In addition, both sides exchanged insights on Singapore’s successful practices in internationalized education and Macao’s unique strengths in Portuguese language education and promotion. Rector Jun Liu extended an invitation to SUSS to join the “Global Consortium of Metropolitan Universities,” an initiative launched by CityU, to further promote exchange and collaboration among metropolitan universities worldwide.

This visit provided an opportunity for overseas academic elites to gain a deeper understanding of CityU’s achievements in internationalized education and established closer ties with Singaporean institutions. In the future, CityU will continue to deepen collaborations with global universities, attract international talents, and strengthen its faculty team, thereby injecting innovative momentum into the development of Macao and GBA.
