Learning Outcomes: Featured Model; Learning Ability; Holistic Improvement

Gloria, Ma Suyuan

Second year master’s student at School of Education

I was attracted to CityU's unique education model, with small class sizes allowing better interaction between students and professors. The warm and welcoming atmosphere here influenced me when I first started here. The professors helped me settle into my postgraduate studies with their distinctive teaching style. They brought light to my uni-life and helped me build confidence in my studies. Not only have I improved my learning ability, but my comprehensive quality gained enhancement. In the classroom, the teachers focused more on the understanding and application of the knowledge, and the enriching activities helped us consolidate what we had learned. After classes, I joined the student ambassador team, and every activity I participated in was a challenge but gave me a rewarding experience. I believe the future is promising, and I look forward to another fruitful year at CityU.

Learning Outcomes: International Perspective; Integrated Thinking; Professional Knowledge

Slade, Li Xiangyu

Third year undergraduate student at Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

I have experienced the international perspective and integrated thinking at CityU. Although Macao is just a small place, the deep embedded Chinese and Western cultures have given me a novel experience. In terms of my studies, I am glad that I chose to major in English, and the teachers are all graduates of prestigious universities. Listening to their insights and knowledge, I feel that my horizons have broadened in different dimensions, while at the same time, I feel small in my field of study and want to dabble in more knowledge across disciplines.

Learning Outcomes: Interdisciplinary; Contests and Practical Experiences

Elijah, Chen Taozhi

Third year undergraduate student at Faculty of Data Science

With interdisciplinary features, I am positive about the development scope of my profession. CityU has provided a platform to help me develop and strengthen my interests. For example, based on the science subjects, such as computing courses, I also attended business classes, which brought possibilities and options for my future development. Meanwhile, I participated in the Huawei ICT Competition last year and, with the guidance and mentorship of the faculty, I gained much hands-on experience and eventually made it to the final round, where I had the opportunity to compete with teams from universities across Macao.

Learning Outcomes: Unique Curriculum; Teamwork, Ample Activities

Frankie, Yao Douqi

Second year undergraduate student at Faculty of Business

After my first year at CityU, I have learned a lot, and my uni-life is engaging and diverse. First, the curriculum is unique. In addition to lessons taught by experienced professors, we had group discussions and presentations which simulated the Western university learning style. It allowed us to learn not only professional knowledge but also teamwork and presentation skills. Besides, there are a variety of after-school activities on the campus. We can join various clubs, competitions and performances, and the University will also hold a series of lectures. These activities are all eye-opening and have made our uni-life more fulfilling.

Learning Outcomes: Quality Faculty, Competitions Across Different Areas, Future Planning

Jasmyn, Zou Jie

Third year undergraduate student at Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

I am more than happy to study at CityU. First of all, Our University has a team of quality faculty. Aside from their mentorship, they also organised various public speaking contests and lectures related to English majors, providing us with ample opportunities for self-growth. Secondly, the faculty members often invited students to participate in interviews or meetings for course evaluation, attaching great importance to classroom quality and learning experience and respecting students’ opinions. Finally, for our future careers, professors will give us sincere suggestions and guide us when we are lost. Although I study English, what I have gained is far more than that.
