The Arts Education and Discipline Development Seminar and the Inter-University/Faulty Cooperative Agreement Signing Ceremony Are Held at CityU

On August 6, the Arts Education and Discipline Development Seminar and the Inter-University/Faulty Cooperative Agreement Signing Ceremony were held at the International Conference Room of Tai-Fung Building of CityU. Section Chief Hong Bo at the Culture and Education Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Curator Chen Jichun at the Macao Museum of Art, Researcher Chen Lusheng at the National Museum, Rector Shu Guang Zhang of CityU, Director Sun Jiangtao at the Research Center for Arts Education of CityU, and leaders and scholars from famous art schools from the Chinese mainland attended the signing ceremony. Rector Shu Guang Zhang delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the seminar. In his speech, Rector Zhang expressed sincere welcome and gratitude to the guests and scholars, and introduced the development of CityU. CityU has a long history, inherits the cultural heritage of Macao’s higher education, adheres to the orientation of dislocation development, and attaches importance to the construction of humanities, arts, business and social sciences. It has gradually promoted the development of art education, established an art education research center, and hoped to successfully launch the master/doctoral degree programs in the field of art in the future, and continuously improved the discipline development and teacher network. It is expected that guests and scholars at the seminar will give their insights on the future development of CityU’s art education and jointly support the construction of disciplines. During the period, the presenting ceremony of the Distinguished Professor of the Research Center for Arts Education of CityU was held. On behalf of CityU, Rector Zhang presented the appointment letter of the distinguished professorship to Wang Jiachun, CPC Committee Secretary of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Xu Yongmin, President of the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, and Qu Jian, Dean of the Art School of Northwest University. Then, the Signing Ceremony of the Inter-University/Faulty Cooperative Agreement was held. Rector Zhang and President Xu Yongmin at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts signed the cooperative agreement on behalf of the two institutions. Director Sun signed a cooperative agreement with Dean Qu Jian at the Art School of Northwest University. Secretary Wang Jiachun at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, President Guo Chunfang at Jilin University of Arts, President Xu Yongmin at Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, Researcher Chen Lusheng at the National Museum, and Dean Qu Jian at the Art School of Northwest University delivered keynote speeches and shared and discussed the classical theory and hot topics in today’s art education. The guests attending the seminar and the signing ceremony also included Director Pang Zhonghai of the Academic Affairs Office of Jilin University of Arts and Professor Cai Zhiming at the Academic Affairs Office of CityU.
