The FITM and the SCS of the City U and the Florida State University signed a cooperation MOU for co-organizing the “Walt Disney World J-1 Academic Program” in 2012. Students enrolled in International Hospitality and Tourism Management now have the opportunity to study, have internships and participate in the exchange program at the Florida State University in the U.S. and Walt Disney World U.S. for six months. International Recruitment, Disney Worldwide Services, Dr. Laura Dobson, conducted the Seminar, “Walt Disney World Academic Program.”. During the seminar, details of the program were described in aspects of a colorful life, integration of different cultures, as well as the specific learning and internship positions in Walt Disney, to increase and deepen the students' interest and understanding of the program. Since the establishment of the SCS and FITM in September 2011, both have earned the support of local and foreign enterprises and institutions offering numerous internship opportunities (such as Sheraton Grant-Talent Development Program, Ponte & Pok Mui Grant Program, and the Walt Disney World U.S. Exchange Program). The faculties actively promote international exchange and academic research by signing collaboration agreements with renowned institutions including the Florida International University, Florida International University, Middlesex University, Laureate Hospitality Education, Glion Institute of Higher Education, and the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, to provide more experiential learning opportunities in foreign groups to broaden students’ international perspectives. This event fully showcases international recognition of the tourism academic standards of the SCS and the FITM. |
