The Third Edition of Water Security Forum on the planing and effective use of regional water resources in Great Pearl River Delta was held by City U

On October 21st, The Third Edition of Water Security Forum on the planning and effective use of regional water resources in Great Pearl River Delta was successfully held by City U. Due to the bad weather, the forum was held in the hotel. The Forum was jointly held by City University of Macau, the water resource management project faculty of social science of University of Hong Kong, and the research center of water resource in Sun Yat-Sen University, with the assistance of Marine and Water bureau of Macau Special Administrative Region Government, Macau Water Co., Ltd., Macau Association for Promotion of Economic Construction, and Macau Ecological Society. 

This forum highlights the following topics: "The current condition and confronted challenges of water resource management in Pearl River Delta Region under the policy of one country and two systems", "measures for the coordination and promotion of water resource optimization in Pearl River Delta Region adopted by Canton Hong Kong and Macau", and "the motivation and resistance for the coordination and promotion of the water resource optimization in Pearl River Delta Region". All participants held a discussion on the topics above, and reached agreements in various aspects, including jointly implementing the policy on promoting the development of economic society and water environmental capacity of water resources, and accelerating the construction of water-conservation society in Pearl River Delta Cluster. In terms of the water security and the construction of water-conservation society, they agreed to jointly build a platform for research cooperation and technological exchanges, so as to maintain a reasonable water allocation in Pearl River Delta Cluster, realize a sustainable utilization of water resource and the sustainable development in Pearl River Delta Cluster.
