Our University Vice Rector Kong Fanqing and her entourage visited the former Minister of Science and Technology, academician Xu Guanhua in Beijing during April 25 to 29. They also visited the Beijing Language and Culture University, China Institute of Labor Relations, Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute, Beijing Tourism Institute and other key cooperative Institutions, exchanging achievements and experience in operation and exploring direction and ideas of cooperation in the future.

Vice Rector Kong Fanqing and her entourage briefed academician Xu on the development of our University and introduced the Macau Big Data Research Centre for Urban Governance first established by our school, as well as the Intelligent structure, Intelligent transportation, Intelligent environment, Intelligent resources, Intelligent campus and other aspects of research focus, which strive to enhance research capabilities of Intelligent city and Big Data for Urban Governance in Macau. Academician Xu affirmed our school's orientation and characteristics. He highly appreciated our achievement in Intelligent city and Big Data Research, praising that “You can do big things and able to make great achievements". He also raised valuable advice on the development of Big Data in Macau.

Party secretary Gu Xiaoyuan of Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute, Vice president Wu Wanxiong of China Institute of Labor Relations, Executive vice president Yan Xuyang of Beijing Tourism Institute and other cooperative Institutions responsible person warmly accepted Vice Rector Kong Fanqing and her entourage. Both parties shared the development of the school and explore the exchange of teachers and students, joint training, academic research and other aspects of cooperation. We will continue to cooperate sincerely, pragmatic, mutually beneficial hence reach a win-win situation on the basis of cooperation agreement. Vice Rector Kong Fanqing pointed out that our University draws on the experience of the operation of modern city university, concludes the characteristics of humanities, art, business and social sciences, hence cultivates applicable and practical senior talents to meet the needs for Macau and the region. He hoped to carry out more closely exchanges and cooperation among schools, striving to become an all-rounded, high-quality comprehensive university.

During the visit, our university held special lectures on "Macau and Macau Tertiary Education" in Beijing Language and Culture University, China Institute of Labor Relations and Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute. We gave detailed introduction about the basic situation of Macao SAR, the development of higher education in Macau, development and orientation characteristics of our school. Q&A sessions were also provided regarding admissions, cross-major learning, scholarships, graduation and employment issues mostly concerned by students. This active participation fully demonstrated the reputation and influence of our school were widely promoted.

On April 29, our school also held the Northern China graduate entrance examination in Beijing. Hundreds of candidates from Northern part of China took the exam seriously.
