During his speech, Vice Rector Zhou Wanlei shared CityU’s achievements and key initiatives in digital transformation. He highlighted that the University is utilizing high-speed connectivity, mobile devices, and high-quality applications to provide innovative virtual and real-world learning environments, enabling students to build personalized learning models that fit their needs. According to him, CityU’s digital learning environment provides students with interactive multimedia resources to enhance their learning and improve their academic performance. Additionally, students can collaborate with peers on research, and create, and share learning resources for mutual learning. CityU has established a fast internal network and comprehensive mobile network, implemented compliance measures for information security and privacy protection, and continuously improved its information management and support systems. All of these efforts provide comprehensive technical support for achieving digital teaching at CityU.

Vice Rector Zhou Wanlei highlighted that CityU conducts annual information security and privacy protection training for new staff and students, as well as organizing “Information Security Week” and related activities to enhance the education system on information security and privacy protection. Specific guidelines have been developed for the use of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, providing timely and clear high-tech usage instructions for faculty and students to ensure academic integrity, avoid network security threats, and prevent personal privacy violations. These guidelines also helped them understand how to properly handle generated information related to national security, personal safety, criminal activities, pornography, violence, and other sensitive topics.
