Brilliant Achievements Again | CityU’s Fencing Team Wins One Gold and One Bronze at “2018-2019 Macau University Fencing Championship”

"2018-2019 Macau University Fencing Championship", organized by the Macau Universitarian Sports' Association and co-organized by the Macao Fencing Association, was held from April 13 to 14.

This competition covered six individual events, namely: men's and women's foil, epee, and saber. It not only attracted universities in Macao, but also received wide attention from all walks of life and media. The athletes of our university won one gold and one bronze medals: Lao Long Fei won the first place of Men's Sabre. And Mou Lingtong won the third place of Men's Sabre.

During the competition, all our athletes played well at the group stage and entered the knockout stage. After fighting all the way through, the two athletes made it to the semi-finals of the top and second parts of the table. Finally, Mou Lingtong won a bronze. And Lao Long Fei beat his rival by 15-8 in the final and won a gold medal for CityU.

In recent years, our fencing team has trained hard and probed into tactics and strategies in their spare time so as to steadily improve their skills and tactics. They have achieved great success in Macao and China as a whole. Hope they will make persistent efforts and attain more brilliant achievements. Congratulations again!
