Ms. Yu Qi, Director General of Department of International Cooperation, CNSA, Leads a Delegation to Visit CityU

On May 3, Ms. Yu Qi, Director General of Department of International Cooperation, China National Space Administration (CNSA), led a delegation to visit City University of Macau (CityU).

Rector Shu Guang Zhang extended his sincere welcome to the delegation and introduced the development and future prospects of our university. Ms. Yu Qi led the delegation to visit our campus and teaching facilities and highly recognized our school-running orientation and achievements in recent years.

During the visit, Rector Zhang said that, our university will fully support the aerospace industry of China and actively cooperate with China Space Foundation (CSF) to perform various tasks in Macao. The society, colleges, and universities of Macao have always been concerned about the development of aerospace industry of China. Our university will support aerospace professionals to pursue further study in Macao and actively set up a platform for the popularization of aerospace. Ms. Yu Qi held that, currently, the global aerospace industry is developing rapidly. It is imperative to explore international rules and space law related to aerospace development. She hoped that our university would involve more in such exploration and support China to participate in the consultation of international rules. Thanks to our quality disciplines, such as data science and intelligent technological services, our university has built important teaching and research platforms for the long-term and sustainable development of China's aerospace industry, made forward-looking efforts, fully aligned with the development trends of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and given full play to the role of think tank serving China's aerospace industry.

The guests present at the forum also included: Wang Cheng, the Secretary-General of CSF and Deputy Director of Exploration and Space Program Center, CNSA, Professor Zhou Jun of School of Astronautics, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Associate Professor Bai Yuqi of the College for Global Change Studies and Department of Earth System Science, Tsinghua University, Robert Chan, the Secretary General of Council of CityU, George Du, the Dean of Institute of Data Science of CityU, and Sheng Jian, the Head of Research Management Office (RMO) of CityU.
