The City University of Macau (CityU) hosted the 2023 Chinese New Year Spring Dinner at the Banyan Tree Macau yesterday to celebrate the festival with faculty, staff, students, and alumni. University leaders attended the event and officiated the toasting ceremony. They were: Chan Meng Kam, Chairman of the University Council; Ung Choi Kun and Yan Ze Xian, Vice Chairmen of the University Council; Li Amber Jiaming, a member of the University Council; Prof. Jun Liu, Rector of CityU; Kong Fanqing, Prof. Ip Kuai Peng, and Prof. Chee Seong Chin, Vice Rectors.
In his speech, Rector Liu encouraged all members to work together and build CityU into a leading metropolitan university with international vision and academic impact.

The "CityU Teaching Award" presentation ceremony for the academic year 2021/2022 took place in the following section. Prof. Lou Shiyan, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Finance, received the Outstanding Teaching Performance Award; Lecturer Lo Ribeiro Joel from the Faculty of International Tourism and Management and Assistant Professor Zhang Donghang from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences received the Teaching Excellence for Junior Academics Award; and the Excellence in Curriculum and Quality Development Award was presented to the Bachelor of International Tourism and Hotel Management program developed by the Faculty of International Tourism and Management. Prof. Lou Shiyan represented the recipients to give a speech.

At the Spring Dinner, representatives from the School of Education, Faculty of Innovation and Design, Faculty of Business, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Student Affairs Office presented cultural performances. A variety of raffle prizes were drawn throughout the evening. The event was concluded in a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere.
