CityU hosts Springer Nature Academic Publication Seminar

To enhance the quality of English publications, the Graduate School at City University of Macau (CityU) invited Wang Lei, Senior Editor of Greater China at Springer Nature, to host an English-language academic publication seminar today. Springer is one of the major publishers of academic publications and journals in natural sciences, engineering, and medicine. English-language academic publications can facilitate exchanges with international peers, helping scholars and research fellows pave the way for their scholarly careers.

The focus of this seminar was on the publication of English-language monographs in the fields of law and social sciences. The seminar introduced the publishing process of Springer Nature, how to organize book manuscripts, and how to make academic monographs available for open access. Additionally, the seminar explained how to transform doctoral dissertations into monographs. Combining publishing experience and examples, Senior Editor Wang Lei provided detailed introductions on the problems and difficulties that may arise during the publishing process, and patiently answered questions from faculty and students. Senior Editor Wang Lei presented the monographs authored by CityU scholars and published by Springer Nature as examples to provide guidance and suggestions to faculty and students.
