CityU organizes 24th International Conference on Algorithms and Architectures for Parallel Processing, providing exchange platform for global parallel computing sector

The 24th International Conference on Algorithms and Architectures for Parallel Processing (ICA3PP 2024), organized by City University of Macau (CityU), was recently held at the Wynn Palace for three consecutive days. It attracted experts, scholars, industry leaders, and researchers from renowned institutions around the world, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Portugal, and Australia, to discuss the latest developments and applications in parallel algorithms and architectures.

At the opening ceremony, the conference chair and vice rector of CityU, Professor Zhou Wanlei, stated that ICA3PP had become one of the most influential international conferences in the field of parallel computing since its inception in 1995. He expressed great honor that this year’s conference was being held in Macao, noting that it served as a key platform for connecting global technological exchanges.
This year’s conference theme was “Algorithms and Architectures for Parallel Processing,” aimed at advancing the development of this field through academic exchange and practical exploration, enhancing the efficiency, performance, reliability, and security of computing systems and applications. The conference covered multiple dimensions, from fundamental theoretical research to commercial systems and components, providing a platform for collaboration between the global academic and industrial communities.
The conference invited several distinguished scholars to give keynote speeches, sharing their latest research advancements in the field of parallel computing. Among them, Zhou Jianying, director of the iTrust at Singapore University of Technology and Design, discussed “The Need of Testbeds for Cyber-Physical System Security”; Zhang Yang, a professor at the Helmholtz Center for Information Security (CISPA) in Germany, delivered a keynote on “Safety Assessment of Large Generative Models”; Yang Hongxia, a professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, introduced “Collaboration and Evolution of Foundation and Specialized Models”; Liu Bo, an associate professor at the University of Technology Sydney, spoke on “The Security and Privacy of Generated Data”; and Gao Longxiang, a professor at Qilu University of Technology, presented on “From Data Integrity to Model Integrity: Challenge, Solutions, and Insights for Edge Intelligence.”
