CityU students win third prize at 4th China Economic Development Case Analysis Competition Final

A team of five City University of Macau (CityU) students, Wang Xiangbin, Lin Xinyao, Zhou Yanchi, Zhang Jingyi, and Liu Jiaqi, won third prize at the 4th China Economic Development Case Analysis Competition Final, held at Sun Yat-sen University. Guided by Prof. Lee Chien Chiang from the Faculty of Finance, the team impressed judges with their rigorous theoretical analysis, research perspectives grounded in Macao’s development realities, and clear case argumentation.

This year’s competition, themed “How AI is Changing the Future of the Digital Economy”, attracted nearly 200 teams from over 30 universities. CityU’s award-winning entry, AI-Driven “Smart Tourism+” Ecosystem Reshaping—A Case Study of Amap’s “One-Click Smart Tour of Macao”, closely aligned with Macao’s positioning as a “world centre of tourism and leisure”. The team combined questionnaire surveys and case analysis to examine AI’s role in empowering Macao’s smart tourism development.

This achievement reflects CityU’s commitment to integrating academic competitions with practical education, nurturing students’ research capabilities and innovative thinking for the Greater Bay Area’s digital economy and cultural tourism advancement.
