CityU’s Chinese Music Ensemble performs in Beijing, promoting cultural integration through music as a medium

The “Rivers of Youth” Joint Concert by China Conservatory of Music, Beijing Language and Culture University, and City University of Macau, was recently held at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing. The Chinese Music Ensemble of CityU performed as a guest group, collaborating with the Youth Traditional Orchestra of the China Conservatory of Music and the Chinese & International Student Ensemble from Beijing Language and Culture University to present an audiovisual feast that blended tradition and modernity while showcasing youthful vitality and cultural legacy.

The concert aimed to strengthen cultural exchange and connections between young students from Beijing and Macao through the universal language of music, and promote the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional culture. CityU’s Chinese Music Ensemble, with its unique artistic style and exceptional performance skills, played several classic folk pieces but also presented original compositions that blended the cultural characteristics of both Beijing and Macao, showcasing a profound understanding and innovative expression of traditional culture.

Going forward, the Chinese Music Ensemble will actively participate in cultural exchange activities to promote inheritance and development of Chinese traditional culture.
