Dr. Hu J.Y, Undersecretary of Economic Affairs Department and Director of Trade Office of LOCPG Macau SAR recently visited City University of Macau and gave lectures in Tourism Economy Analysis to PhD candidates of International Tourism and Management program. Dr. Hu lectured systematically from four aspects of positioning of tourism industry in economy, business travel theories and practices, tourism service innovation, and tourism and city development in detail.
Dr. Hu started working in Department of Foreign Investment Administration of Ministry of Commerce, in charge of drawing up laws and regulations on foreign investment absorption, formulate relevant rules, policies and reform schemes and organize the implementation, and supervise and examine the enforcement. He took part in negotiation of China rejoining GATT and service trade joining WTO. With profound experience in theory research and economy trade management practices, Dr. Hu has composed series of monographs in the field of economy and trade and has published more than a hundred papers.
Dr. Hu has kept longstanding concern for the development of Macau tourism. During his staying in CityU, Dr. Hu presented a great lecture of Tourism Economy Analysis to the PhD candidates by combing world tourism economy trends and positioning of Macau as a world tourism and leisure center. All the PhD candidates expressed their gratitude for benefiting from the lectures.
