On 20th March 2014, Mr Vincent K. H. Chan, former Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Midland Holdings Limited, was invited to attend the Greater China Business Forum, and to deliver a seminar on “Macau and Zhuhai Property Outlook”.
In his seminar, Mr Chan explained the reasons why house prices in Macau are continuing to rise, and emphasised the importance of location in property investments. In particular, he pointed out that government policy is one of the major factors affecting house prices. Moreover, he suggested that investing at the right time is the key in the housing market. In other words, early investment in property does not invariably provide the best returns because we do not have a reliable sense of what will happen in the future. Therefore, it is essential to do sufficient research and to pay attention to the current market conditions before getting involved in property investment. The presentation was followed by a lively question and answer session.
Mr Chan is the former Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Midland Holdings Limited in Hong Kong. He holds a MBA degree from University of Virginia in the United States.
