On October 15, the first event of the Chinese films and film artists into the campus exchange activities of the 15th Macau Excellent Mainland Chinese Films Exhibition was held at HG03 of the Ho Yin Convention Centre.
This exchange activity invited outstanding directors, scriptwriters, and film artists, including Mr. Li Qiankuan, Ms. Xiao Guiyun, Mr. Gu Changwei and Mr. Fan Ming, as well as Vice Rector Kong Fanqing and Director General Wang Kun of Postgraduate Association. During the event, the teachers and students enthusiastically exchanged ideas with the artists.
In her speech, Vice Rector Kong Fanqing noted that this event not only constructed a bridge for Macao teachers and students to communicate with film artists, but also built a platform for teachers and students to understand the performing arts culture, acquire art knowledge and improve everyone's level of art appreciation. CityU would like to thank the film artists for creating one and another excellent film works, conveying the correct values and positive energy, bringing more thinking and understanding to the young people and enriching the cultural life on campus. At the same time, Vice Rector Kong congratulated the students who won the special prize, the first prize, the second prize, the third prize and became the finalists in the 4th Golden Lotus Cup "Watch Films and Comment on Films" essay contest. Vice Rector Kong hoped that more students will participate in the essay contest, to experience different film styles, expressions and film philosophies, discover the connotation of each excellent film, and learn the innovation spirit of filmmakers in each film.
In the speech, Director Li Qiankuan first expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the Golden Lotus Cup, and proposed to "fall in Love with the Future of films", evoking everyone's enthusiasm for life and arts to constantly enjoy the beauty; then he talked about his story of films in his childhood. His observation, "Films are the best carrier of dreams", contains not only the love for the films, but also the vision and expectation for the entire film industry.
Following the interaction between the artists and teachers and students, the students actively asked the filmmakers questions and explored together. The questions presented by the students include the contents of films, the performance of the characters, the expression of film images and the interpretation of the characters from different perspectives. The artists expressed their opinions from their own experiences, the real scene of film-making, and their observations, feelings and thinking of the film industry for years. The students were deeply inspired by their wise points of view like "arts of film and television is a family", "to feel the character thoughts and culture", and "disagree with the "copy-cat acts"".

The entry of film artists into Macao universities is precisely a cultural approach to link education with arts, which also effectively promotes the improvement of the humanistic quality and the construction of spiritual homes for contemporary college students.
