Strong typhoon Hato struck Macau yesterday with a rainstorm and seawater intrusion, leading to demolition around the city. Windows were wrecked and trees were destructed. The campus of CityU in Taipa, Golden Dragon Centre and Royal Centre as well as the dormitories have been slightly destroyed. CityU conducted an emergency evaluation meeting on the first workday after the typhoon. We arranged staff to clean up the campus so that the registration of new students and first day of school can proceed. We would like to remind students in Macau to stay safe and avoid going out and returning to school.
