Tourism Enterprises Case Studies is the first course of the International Tourism and Management program. The PhD students were pleasantly surprised to welcome Professor Ma.Y as lecturer for the course.
Professor Ma’s lectures involved theme parks, tourism real estate, tourism development and intelligence tourism in the big data era. He introduced a series of famous cases of domestic and foreign tourism enterprises development, including Shenzhen OCT East - a phenomenal theme park development in China, the emerging Wanda Changbai Mountain International Tourism Resort and Tujia.com - an online platform for high end vacation rentals. With his abundant experience in tourism development theory research and practices, Professor Ma explained development strategies, decision-making processes, and characteristic management modes and cases behind successful cases in a comprehensible manner. All the PhD candidates gained substantial understanding of tourism management and realized the great development potentials of the tourism industry.
Professor Ma is a leading national tourism expert, Dean of Tourism Development Research Institute, Vice-Chairman of Tourism Education Branch of China Tourism Association and Deputy Director of Tourism Management Education Steering Committee of Chinese Ministry of Education.
