Source：Macau Daily 2015/Feb/2- Feb/5 Prof. Aliana Leong, Vice Rector of City University of Macau and Guangzhou Municipal CPPCC member, attended the 4th session of the 12th Guangzhou Municipal CPPCC Conference held on February 2015. Chairman Su Z.J of Guangzhou Municipal CPPCC said Guangzhou CPPCC members from Hong Kong and Macau are to be mobilized to research the comprehensive cooperation among Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macau, the drives of National Central City building, and the promotion of industry transformation and upgrading and harmonious development of the city. Guangzhou CPPCC members from Macau recognized the more prominent function of CPPCC while discussing its work reports and proposals. They agreed that the CPPCC members from Macau should give full play to their advantages and influence by providing more targeted and practical proposals. Prof. Aliana Leong, Guangzhou CPPCC member from Macau, focused on the Guangzhou-Macau cooperative development of MICE industry, and her proposal, "The Guangzhou-Macau Cooperative Development of MICE Industry in the Golden Corridor in Western Pearl River Delta” was the key speech at the conference. In her proposal, Prof. Aliana Leong pointed out that Macau lacked influential exhibition brands and needed to draw from the experience of Guangzhou in the MICE industry. By jointly making development plans, and sharing resources on professionals, consultation and service, the two cities would benefit altogether. The other proposal of Prof. Aliana Leong to promote vocational college students from Guangzhou and surrounding areas to enroll and study Bachelor programs in Macau was widely acclaimed as well. The conference is expected to reinforce the connection of representatives and communities in Hong Kong and Macau, broaden and deepen cooperation among the regions, and further develop patriotism in Hong Kong and Macau. |
