To work in line with the development of Macau MICE industry, Vice-Rector of City U, Prof. Aliana Leong, signed the "MICE Ambassador" training program agreement with the Director of Macao Fair and Trade Association, Mr. Lam Zhongxian. The trained MICE Ambassadors will recognize the MICE process and master skills of public relations to serve as excellent human resources in the MICE market.
The training covers 1) 20-hour training courses, inviting senior instructors to teach international MICE events and hospitality skills; 2) about 50-hour training; 3) a visiting activity during the training, "MICE Ambassadors" will actively participate in large-scale activities in Macau or neighboring areas to understand the operational processes of MICE activities and absorb practical experiences. It is planned to complete the training for 600 MICE Ambassadors within 10 months. Participants who complete the training will receive a Certificate of Completion of Training in the "Exhibition Ambassadors" issued by Macau Fair and Trade Association and the SCS of City U.
The Training objectives will include 50 students majoring in MICE management of the FITM and the SCS of City U, five students from graduating class of high schools, and five students majoring in related MICE management from other higher institutions. It is expected to train 500 - 600 MICE ambassadors.
Prof. Leong stated that through this plan, the important mission of improving the quality of Macau MICE would be achieved. Through a series of international standard professional training and practicethe "MICE Ambassadors" will be taught theoretical knowledge and obtain practical experience. Arrangements will be made for students to undergo practice training in a number of companies that signed agreement with the planning, to further meet the needs of the market, and better serve the MICE industry of Macau.
