he academic seminar on Big Data Application of Social Endowment in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area organized by the City University of Macau and the Social Security Fund in Macao was successfully held on July 13 at the Ho Yin Convention Centre of CityU. A number of representatives, experts and scholars from government agencies and other institutions from four-regions of China across the straits such as Lin Danhong, Section-chief-level Assistant at Social Work Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Chan Pou I, Head of Department of Social Security System of Social Security Fund, Ieong Iun Lai, Head of Department of Central Provident Fund System of Social Security Fund, Cheang U Keong, Duty Chief of the Community Service and Program Unit of the Senior Service Division of the Social Work Bureau, Xiong Subing, Chief of the Endowment Insurance Division of the Social Security Bureau of Dongguan City, Xu Jianping, Section Chief at Suzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Chan Kin Sun, President of the Executive Council of Macau Social Security Society, Ip Kuai Peng, Pro-Rector of CityU, and Jacky Ho, Department Head of Innovative Social Work, attended the seminar.

In the speech, Pro-Rector Ip Kuai Peng pointed out that the aging of the population is the focus of common concern of the society. As a region with a more aging population, all walks of society in Macao should make concerted efforts to do a good job in social endowment to meet the challenges of the aging of population. In this regard, he put forward four suggestions: First, build a comprehensive population development strategy and encourage eugenics and more children; second, vigorously develop the elderly group industry, and encourage the elderly to re-employment; third, improve the security system for the elderly and guarantee the rights and interests of the elderly; fourth, strengthen medical cooperation with non-profit organizations and increase social medical services.

Director Jacky Ho said that all walks of society should view the aging of the population as a social change and social phenomenon, build a new elderly care mode, jointly promote the quality pension policy and service planning, and build a livable community for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

President Chan Kin Sun said in his speech that in the era of Big Data, while improving the social pension management capacity, improving the level of social service supply, and enhancing the social benefits of social pension, Macao should share its information on social pension with other cities in the greater bay area, and expand the breadth and depth of regional cooperation on social pension. He hoped that by holding the meeting, Macao could enhance its cooperation with the mainland in terms of people's livelihood and build a quality living environment.

The conference has 4 sessions that have the subjects of New Progress in Pension Insurance Policies, Practical Experience in Social Pensions, Precision of Social Pension Policies and Innovative Development of Pension Services. In this seminar, the participants combined the development plan of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, made active suggestions for promoting the development of social pension service system, and promoted the exchanges and cooperation in this field.
