In July 2017, CityU successfully joined the Erasmus+ Teacher and Student Exchange Program held by the University of Minho in Portugal. CityU, together with the University of Macau, is one of the two partner universities for the program in Macao. The Erasmus+ Program, funded by the EU, aims to support development in the education, training and youth sports in Europe. In May 2018, Xu Mingjian, a second-year postgraduate student of Applied Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of CityU, and Bao Ziyou, a third-year undergraduate student of International Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Faculty of International Tourism and Management, were successfully selected by the program through strict selection. They have been offered generous scholarships from the EU, which include local subsistence allowances and round-trip transportation reimbursements. The two students from the City University of Macau will travel to the University of Minho for a five-month exchange program in the second semester of the academic year 2018/2019. Recently, CityU is pleased to learn that Wang Yuanyuan, teacher at the Faculty of Business Administration, has successfully entered the preliminary list of the program and is expected to go to the University of Minho for academic exchange in the academic year 2018/2019. This is the first time that CityU has participated in the Erasmus+ Program funded by the EU. The excellent result has brought great inspiration to the teachers and students of CityU. Meanwhile, CityU encourages students to actively participate in such overseas exchange programs during their college years to seize the valuable learning opportunities, so as to improve their comprehensive quality and broaden their international vision. In addition, in June 2018, João Pereira, an administrative staff of the University of Minho supported by the Erasmus+ Program visited CityU and conducted a five-day exchange and training in the Finance Division of CityU. During the period, Mr. Pereira had an in-depth exchange and experience sharing with the Finance Division and the staff of the Global Exchange Office of CityU on campus administration, and both sides benefited a lot.
